Day Treatment Specialist

**This is a part-time contract position**

We are seeking a professional with availability Monday-Friday to float between locations providing intervention based activities for school aged children. The schedule for this position will vary.

Scope of work overview

Day Treatment is a behavioral intervention and strengths-based program, provided in the context of a therapeutic milieu, which provides children/adolescents with serious emotional/behavioral disturbances and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities the intensity of treatment necessary to enable them to live in the community. Day Treatment Services are based on behavior management principles and includes, at a minimum, positive feedback, self-esteem building and social skills training. Additional components are determined by the needs of the participants at a particular site and may include skills training in the areas of impulse control, anger management, problem solving, and/or conflict resolution.

Scope of work

  • Ensuring that the program operates at a minimum of two (2) hours per day, two (2) days per week, up to a maximum of five (5) hours per day, five (5) days per week.
  • Ensuring that each child/youth enrolled in Day Treatment Services must receive Day Treatment Services at a minimum of two (2) hours per day, two (2) days per week up to a maximum of five (5) hours per day, five (5) days per week.
  • Ensuring that each child’s confidentiality is kept, no children other than those enrolled in Day Treatment Services can be present in the room during the time Day Treatment Services are being provided.
  • Executing and assisting with the following:

Planning Day Treatment interventions and Curriculum of therapeutic interventions. Coordinating the Day Treatment Program including transportation.

  • Must evaluate Day Treatment service efficacy for clients.
  • Ensuring that the day treatment program operates year round.

Ensuring that the day treatment curriculum covers but is not limited to:

  • Functional living skills,
  • Socialization or social skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Conflict resolution
  • Self-esteem improvement
  • Anger control/ impulse control

Ensuring that the approved curriculum is kept on site. Ensuring that all activities and strategies implemented are therapeutic, age appropriate, developmentally appropriate, relate to the objectives in each child/youth’s Individual Service Plan.

  • Ensuring that Day Treatment roll/roster cannot exceed ten (10) children/youth per program with the exception of Day Treatment Services for children and youth with alcohol and other drug disorders.
  • Ensuring that the programs master schedule is kept on file at each location and at a minimum the specific skill areas being addressed each day and the specific times these skill areas are being addressed. Skill area activities shown on the Master Schedule must be curriculum- specific. Identification numbers of individuals receiving services must be listed for all individuals participating in each skill area (time period) being addressed.
  •  Day Treatment Specialist will ensure the ratio of staff to children/youth receiving services in each Day Treatment Program will be maintained.
  •  Day Treatment Specialist will ensure that the plans for transitioning a child to a less intensive therapeutic service when deemed clinically appropriate is properly documented. This documentation must be maintained in each child’s Individual Service Plan in his/her record.
  • This position will require work on site at our principal location (Bardstown Road) in addition to floating to our 5 partnering locations in the Louisville area.

Must have a clean driving record and be willing to transport children in the company vehicle.

Must be punctual, meet deadlines, reliable, responsible, and have great communication skills.

**This is a part-time contract position**

  • We are seeking a professional with availability Monday-Friday. The schedule for this position will vary based upon the Jefferson County School calendar.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 22 per week
