Columbia is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support and drive the execution of measurable traffic and sales driving programs to an assigned Employee Store. This includes but is not limited to outreach to the local business community, non-profits and associations. ABOUT THE POSITION The North America Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) team focuses on our outlet, brand, and employee stores within the US and Canada. From merchandising to retail marketing to retail operations, there is a highly collaborative team working “behind the scenes” to ensure our consumers have a positive experience in our stores. Columbia is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support and drive the execution of measurable traffic and sales driving programs to an assigned Employee Store. This includes but is not limited to outreach to the local business community, non-profits and associations. This role consists of business development, analysis and reporting with a large focus on metrics, including a high volume of phone and email communication. HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE Extensive business development including cold and warm calling, networking events and strong email communication to solicit and secure new accounts Develop target prospect lists and execute cold outreach to prospects at select companies Attend health fairs, conferences, networking and customer events to represent Columbia Sportswear Company, its brands and Employee Store Work closely with various corporate teams as well as HQ Corporate teams including but not limited to Corporate Relations, Retail Operations Creative/Design teams and the Retail Marketing team to support traffic driving programs to the Employee Store location Consistently able to meet weekly and monthly quotas Perform other related duties as assigned YOU ARE Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills Proficient with Microsoft Suite An outstanding communicator, both written and verbally Able to react positively to change and adapt easily Self-motivated with the ability to multitask Able to work independently or within a team YOU HAVE Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business and/or finance Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in sales and marketing, account management or business development Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Experience with Salesforce *Must be within driving distance to Shepherdsville, KY* To learn more about our hiring process during COVID-19, click here. #LI-HS1 Columbia Sportswear Company and our portfolio of brands, including Columbia, SOREL, Mountain Hardwear and prAna, know a thing or two about adventures.
