Career Opportunities at Linwood Center is Hiring a Staff Accountant - AP Near Ellicott, MD

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Process billing for services rendered utilizing both automated and semi-automated methods through DDA LTSS billing system and CIMS software.
  2. Researches and resolves discrepancies before billing.
  3. Compares remittance reports to billed claims to determine payment status of claims.
  4. Initiates research promptly on all claims not paid within an expected time frame
  5. Works frequently with other departments to obtain information necessary for LTSS billing and to resolve discrepancies
  6. Analyze & track DDA funding vs. actual billing for LTSS.
  7. Prepares timely journal entries in the accounting system to record revenue and accounts receivable transactions.
  8. Reconcile Balance Sheet and General Ledger Accounts
  9. Prepare monthly internal financial reporting.
  10. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for all bank accounts
  11. Assist with agency annual budgets and forecasting activities.
  12. Manages general ledger accounts and bank accounts reconciliation.
  13. Assist with accounts payable as needed. Ensures invoices are paid in a timely manner and that all documentation is verified.
  14. Provides information to management in areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other accounting functions.
  15. Assists in collect and report attendances for Adult programs and accrual of revenue based on attendance data.
  16. Scanning, filing and document retention.
  17. Assists with the preparation of audit schedules and related supporting documentation.
  18. Performs general office duties, assists with daily projects and performs other duties as needed.
  19. May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Must possess an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or four years of coursework in related subjects.
  • Must have experience and/or demonstrate competence in accounting and financial matters, including accounts payable.
  • Experienced with DDA-LTSS Billing is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required, including proficiency with advanced functions of Microsoft Excel. Experience with QuickBooks accounting Software is preferred.
  • Must also demonstrate analytical and organizational skills with superior attention to detail and an ability to set priorities.
