This Recruiter role will support the Shareholder Development Department by providing extensive career and professional development programs for shareholders, their descendants, and spouses throughout Bristol Bay. The position entails offering direct services to shareholders, establishing community and external partnerships, keeping management informed, overseeing and enhancing service delivery to shareholders, safeguarding shareholder privacy, and contributing to the team's overall efforts.Essential Job Responsibilities:Works closely and effectively with shareholders in assisting and coaching them to become better prepared and qualified for employment that best suits their employment/career needs. Assistance would include but limited to assisting with resume creation or edits, job search assistance, mock interviews, and training inquiries. Seeks to find positions of increased skill and responsibility for shareholders within BBNC and outside organizations. Track and input into database systems, actions taken in support of shareholder employment goals. Find ways to use progress and success in the program to creatively market and reach out to all shareholders.Administer shareholder employment and developmental programs. Maintain and update records or databases to reflect the job skills, education, career plans, etc. of shareholders, students, graduates, etc. Works closely with the Bristol Bay Foundation and other regional scholarship providers to maintain a variety of files, records, materials outlining schools, scholarships, and services available for shareholders. Helps to ensure that BBNC’s shareholder employment goals and developmental programs are effectively carried out throughout all of BBNC’s activities and business units/departments. Continually work with managers to ensure formal and informal shareholder hire and development programs are meeting goals in every business unit. Must travel to a variety of organizations, partners, in-region communities, and career fairs to effectively identify, encourage, and work with shareholders interested in employment and developmental opportunities. Promotes shareholder employee development activities in a positive and constructive manner that maintains respect for BBNC’s entire diverse workforce. Helps establish relationships with external businesses and agencies to promote shareholder employment development, educational, and training opportunities. Conduct highly productive visits and presentations at various types of educational institutions. Meets with shareholders and effectively encourage a significant proportion of them to participate in BBNC’s career developmental programs. Makes creative recommendations in effort to continuously improve the scope and effectiveness of shareholder outreach, placement and development programs. Works with other Native corporations to conduct best practices in shareholder hiring and development best practices into the BBNC shareholder hire and development process. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/Experience:A bachelor’s degree in education, business administration, human resources or other appropriate field and one year of relevant experience; or at least five years of job experience in a similar position.Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships. Must have tertiary qualifications in human resources, training and development or business studies. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, make decisions, solve problems, and exercise good judgment. Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain poise when dealing with high-pressure situations. Good public contact skills and knowledge of proper telephone and email etiquette. Good understanding of subject areas typically raised by shareholders who contact the department. Good working knowledge of applicant tracking and software. Word processing skills; accurate data entry skills; and working knowledge of personal computers. Self-starter, requiring minimal supervision. High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information Valid Alaska driver’s license. General knowledge of ANCSA and laws is preferred but not necessary. Physical DemandsFrequent sitting and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Most work performed in a professional office facility. Frequent travel to rural areas in small aircraft. Hiring preference will be given to BBNC shareholders/descendants and Alaska Natives in accordance with Public Law 93-638.
