Vista Technical Services, LLC. (VTS) is seeking a Server Administrator. This is a temporary position with the possibility of going permanent. JOB DEFINITION: The Server Administrator’s role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. Manages network folder/file permissions to ensure data integrity. Maintains AD structure and creates domain accounts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:Manage servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.• Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.• Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs.• Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.• Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.• Administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.• Perform network design and capacity planning.• Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.• Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.• Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.• Establish service level agreements with end users.• Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.• Perform server and security audits.• Perform system backups and recovery.• Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.• Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.• Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team. Experience must include significant work with database management systems and associated utility software. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Required to work outside the traditional work schedule. Maybe called out to work off-shift for on-call or emergency situations. Security certification is required prior to hire. A Computing Environment (CE) certification in Windows Server Operating System, VMware, Unix, or Azure SQL Server is required within 6 months of assignment to duties. Several training options are available to complete the CE requirements upon hire. An Interim Secret Clearance is required prior to confirmed full time employment. MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The following demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires persistent repetitive movements of the hands, wrists and fingers and the ability to sit for long periods of time. This position requires lifting peripherals and computer equipment.
