Title: Permanent Substitute Teacher
Reports to: Lower and Middle School Division Heads
Primary Responsibilities: The Permanent Substitute Teacher (PST) is the trained educator responsible for teaching K-8 classes, covering duties, and ensuring student well-being when permanent teachers are absent for either professional development or illness. The PST is responsible for continuity of instruction, supervision, and safety in the classroom and within the school.
Primary Sensibilities: The Permanent Substitute Teacher is a steady hand, modeling joy, competency, flexibility, and excellent organizational skills. The PST is a trusted colleague, hardworking team player, and thoughtful partner with teachers and administrators. The PST is comfortable operating and utilizing Google Suite applications and Apple hardware and software like Macbooks and IPads.
Desired Qualifications: B.A. in Education or similar field with one to two years of experience working with school-age children in a group or classroom setting.
Hours/Classification: Part-Time or Full-Time (.80 - 1.0 FTE); 10 months; Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $30/per hour - $40/per hour DOE

Essential Responsibilities:
(Note: The following responsibilities pertain to planning and substitute teaching. When there is no need for a substitute teacher, the PST is expected to reach out to the Program Operations Manager for ad hoc assignments in classrooms and/or within the school.)
All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, pass a criminal background check and complete a TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire that is completed by a healthcare professional.
