Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Clock in for shift ready to begin work in full uniform. Shoes must be black and slip resistant.
· Check reservation book to know how many condiments to prepare.
· Prepare set-up tasks (i.e. butter, trays, condiments, etc).
· Uphold sanitation and food safety principles.
· Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all food menus.
· Deliver food orders to customers quickly and accurately
· Safely transport items to and from kitchen on a slick uneven surface.
· Lift and carry multiple plates from kitchen to dining room.
· Safely move about in all areas of the restaurant.
· Ensure guests have proper silverware, napkin, share plates when delivering food.
· Assure guests have everything they need on the tables after delivery of food.
· Handle various impromptu requests from customers.
· Bus tables by removing dirty dishes and trash.
· Keep kitchen station clean and organized.
· Utensils & steak knives polished and stocked.
· Assist all servers, bartenders and managers with carrying of plates.
· Communicate effectively and courteously with guests, and co-workers.
· Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (i.e. food allergies)
· Perform calmly and effectively under stressful conditions.
· Promote an atmosphere of teamwork by assisting co-workers.
· Perform all closing procedures.
· Perform other tasks as requested by Supervisor, including those pertaining to other departments.
· Work in other areas/departments, as needed.
· Follows all policy and procedures as established by WVCC.
· Set up and break-down rooms, and move furniture.
· Follows all safety procedures of the department.
Education and/or Experience:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Physical Demands:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk frequently during the day. May stand four (4) to eight (8) hours per day. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. via food or beverage trays or required equipment needed to perform specific job duties. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.
