Job Summary :
Performs a variety of healthcare environmental services (EVS) duties to enhance the healthcare environment by maintaining the location assigned.
Follows special healthcare cleaning and trash handling techniques as required ensuring a professional and appropriate service standard while performing the job.
Follows system wide standards as well as department specific service standards. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient / family / customer experience by optimizing all customer interactions.
Fosters a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to unit specific service standards.
Job Duties :
Requires ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs., carry and push carts from 100 lbs. to 500 lbs. when performing duties.
Works under a variety of temperature conditions. May involve transporting items outside of buildings in all weather conditions.
Possesses the ability to stand for long periods as well as to walk long distances to perform cleaning and disinfecting tasks of both high and low items / areas.
Requires ability to perform job duties correctly with in established System EVS standards to facilitate patient throughput.
Requires ability to tolerate the associated visual, auditory and scents associated with providing all kinds of medical and surgical care.
Work is typically performed within a office, clinical or classroom environment; frequently performs duties around patients, their families and clinical care providers as well as non-clinical staff.
