SCOUT DISTRIBUTION | AREA SALES MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will report to and work directly with VP/GM to actively manage the market and engage in account management to grow Scout sales and distribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the implementation of all sales and marketing programs for the entire portfolio for Idaho market with clear pre-planning and follow up on execution with recaps quarterly to partners in all markets.
  • Motivate sales team to achieve sales objectives through clear communication and planning.
  • Focus on selling products and/or upgrading number of product lines across assigned market.
  • Be actively engaged in the selling and business management process by being in the field.
  • Offer extraordinary customer service to suppliers and accounts.
  • Identify target accounts with high affinity to the Scout portfolio, and support suppliers in going after those accounts.
  • Ensure merchandising standards are upheld on and off – premise.
  • Be responsible for the allocation and use of point-of-sale materials through strategic programs and plans.
  • Compile and submit reports required for the sales division.
  • Operate within budget and use budget to build sales success.
  • Observe all state and federal laws pertaining to the sale, merchandising and
  • promotion of beverages.
  • The Area Sales Manager will also have a small set of accounts to call on as an Account Manager.
  • Some overnight travel required to North and East IdahoLeadership Skills Required:

Job Requirements:

  • Three years minimum beverage distributor management experience- preferably some with wholesaler experience.
  • Ability to interface with various levels of management, at wholesale as well as retail and corporate chain accounts.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with limited amount of direction; ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish goals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to speak in front of large groups, conduct trainings/promotions, ABP meetings, Quarterly Recaps, etc.
  • Data analysis experience using to tell a brand story and identify opportunities and successes.
  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving results.
