We are part of CommonSpirit Health which operates 139 hospitals and more than 1,000 care sites across 21 states, making our services accessible to nearly 1 in 4 U.S. residents.ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for timely, accurate and comprehensive review of diagnoses and procedure services. This position is also responsible for verifying charges and assigns valid ICD-10 and CPT codes, as appropriate, to ensure optimal reimbursement and regulatory compliance.Analyzes and codes multi-specialty cases performed in the Downtown OR and Regional Medical Center OR by reviewing documentation and confirming coding is in compliance with regulatory standardsIdentifies trends/problems in medical documentation and recommends possible solutions. Assists with billing and documentation in daily interaction with physicians regarding various inquiries relating to CPT and ICD-10 coding.'We deliver inspired people to do meaningful work.'QualificationsBachelors degree or equivalent years of experience.One of the following: Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) or CCS--Physician-based (CCS-P).Five years of CPT and Diagnostic coding experience in a healthcare provider or a third party payer setting.Multi-specialty surgery experienced preferredClinical knowledge preferred.Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Just as Virginia Mason is dedicated to improving the lives of our patients and our community, we are equally dedicated to your professional and personal success.
