Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is Hiring a Memory Care Aide Near Rome, NY
The Memory Care Aide works closely the Memory Care Coordinator to meet the physical, mental, emotional, and social needs and interests of residents with dementia or specialized care. The Memory Care Assistant assists with the execution of specialized individual and group activities and encourages residents to be meaningfully engaged. Duties involve personal contact with the residents and a varied work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Tasks include recording ongoing and accurate progress notes, providing a stimulating home-like atmosphere, maintenance of supplies, equipment, and storage areas, and assists with transporting residents to facility-wide activities and events.
Requirements:
- Must have clinical experience working with people who have Dementia or Alzheimer's related diseases
- Must have a sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and handicapped
- Must show energy, enthusiasm, and creativity when working and communicating with residents
- Must treat residents, and fellow staff with respect, dignity, and compassion, including working well with others
- Must have the ability to maintain composure during stressful situations
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and follow specialized activity plans
- Must possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm to create an atmosphere conducive to rehabilitation and growth of the residents
ADA Requirements:
- Proficient use of the English language
- Lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50lbs unaided
- Bending, stooping, and stretching
- Kneeling and reaching into low areas easily
- Ability to stand on feet for 8 hours daily
