Accounts Receivable Manager

We are conducting a search for an accomplished Accounts Receivable (A/R) Manager on behalf of a dynamic IT Services Firm (MSP) that serves clients across twenty-one states. The successful candidate will oversee a team of 5-6 individuals responsible for billing and collections activities. This role requires strong leadership skills, proficiency in accounts receivable processes, and the ability to optimize cash flow while maintaining positive client relationships.

Join our team and play a key role in driving the success of our accounts receivable function while leading a talented team of billers and collectors.

Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership:
    • Provide effective leadership and guidance to a team of billers and collectors.
    • Set clear performance expectations, goals, and objectives for team members.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to promote team success.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Accounts Receivable Management:
    • Oversee the entire accounts receivable process, including billing, invoicing, and collections.
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt.
    • Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on past due accounts.
    • Review credit terms and policies, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and escalations related to accounts receivable.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate timely payments.
    • Address client concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline accounts receivable processes and improve efficiency.
    • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance the effectiveness of the A/R function.
    • Utilize data analytics to identify trends and insights for continuous improvement.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate regular reports on key accounts receivable metrics, such as DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and aging analysis.
    • Analyze financial data to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
    • Provide management with actionable insights and recommendations based on analysis findings.
    • Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in accounts receivable management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, billing procedures, and collections strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with accounting software.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
