Reports to: Sophie Newbold, Chief Creative Officer
Travel: Occasional international travel may be required
Position Overview
We are a dynamic, fast-growing fashion company committed to helping our customers find the fun in their busy lives. As we continue to elevate our brand presence, we are seeking a visionary Art Director to lead our Photography and Video teams in the e-commerce studio setting. This role is pivotal in shaping the creative narrative of our brand through visually stunning and compelling imagery for our Product Detail Pages. We are seeking a dynamic and creative E-commerce Art Director to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of on-figure art direction photoshoot in our studio, ensuring that our online visual content consistently reflects the brand's aesthetic excellence and luxury positioning.
Core Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the creative teams, including photographers, stylists, and post-production specialists, to conceptualize and execute compelling on-figure visual content for our e-commerce platform.
  • Maintain a clear artistic vision and brand identity, ensuring consistency across all digital channels and campaigns.
  • Direct and lead on-figure photoshoots, providing guidance on posing, styling, lighting, and composition to achieve desired results.
  • Select final images, make markups, and ensure imagery on the PDP follows artistic direction guidelines.
  • Maintain and update Art Direction guides and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in e-commerce photography and art direction, and incorporate innovative techniques to elevate our visual content.
  • Work closely with the Merchandising and Marketing teams to align visual assets with product launches, promotions, and brand initiatives.
  • Work with a team of photographers, stylists, and assistants, fostering a collaborative and creative studio environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Photography, Fashion Design, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5-7 years) in e-commerce art direction, preferably within the fashion or luxury retail industry.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in on-figure photography, styling, and art direction.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and adapt to evolving priorities.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of production management
  • Excellent time management skills and proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at different stages
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other office productivity tools, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
  • Flexible team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done; adaptable and enjoys a challenge
  • Ability to effectively communicate with varying personalities and solve problems as needed
  • Maintain a positive, upbeat attitude while being solution oriented
