MICROPLASTICS is Hiring a Maintenance/Process Technician Near Charles, IL

Description

Job Purpose:

The Maintenance/Process Technician evaluates, develops and improves manufacturing processes and efficiency by establishing procedures and providing on-going technical support, for new and existing jobs to assure product and process quality. Performs preventative maintenance on machinary. Provides guidance to less experienced staff who preform similar or related duties. 

The Maintenance/Process Technician performs the following:

  • Develop and implement new production systems for the manufacturing area. Review, monitor and adjust the process and equipment after implementation.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions of manufacturing equipment, obtains parts and makes repairs that may be but not limited to mechanical, pneumatic or water circulaiton. Disoposes of parts following company protocol.
  • Enhance equipment performance by recommending and implementing modifications, adjustments and improvements to same, may occur during preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains preventative maintenance schedules and accurately records compliance.
  • Provide technical assistance on various problems affecting product quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and resolve issues with molding and peripheral equipment.
  • Work with Project Management to introduce and refine production ready molds and systems.
  • Establish and maintain processing files.
  • Ensure operation of peripheral equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, notating repairs to be made, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Promote and maintain a clean and safe work enviroment.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, technical publications and networking.
  • Backup relief for the Production Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Educational Requirements and Years of Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent. 2-3 years of experience.
  • Advance knowledge of engineered resins.
  • General understanding of mechanical principles.
  • Knowledge and experience working with quality system requirements such as ISO 9001 and IATF16949 is a plus.

 Administrative, Technological and Behavioral Skills:

  • Understanding of the operation of a Personal Computer and peripheral equipment. Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access) or equivalent.
  • Planning and Organizations Skills – Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with little supervision. Good attention to details. Ability to multi-task by handling several projects at the same time. Must be able to handle and resolve recurring problems with the equipment.
  • Ability to keep records and work station in order.
  • Positive team-member - Must be able to work in a team or independently. Ability to handle moderate amount of stress, while keeping a positive outlook and being respectful to co-workers. Ability to patiently train others in production processes.
  • Good communication skills – Able to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to adjust communication to the applicable audience (able to communicate to all levels of the organization).
  • Understanding of Engineering prints as they relate to manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work overtime and travel, when needed.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/maneuver up to 200lbs with help – this is required to set-up and adjust molds in the equipment.
  • Ability to work in a loud and temperature-controlled environment.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment.
