Vanguard Fire & Security Systems, Inc. is looking for entry level and experienced Fire Protection Systems Technicians to join our team to build, inspect, test, and maintain fire suppression systems for industrial customers. Vanguard Fire & Security Systems, Inc. is a full service provider of fire protection systems within a variety of industries across the United States. We are looking for a person with a positive attitude that wants to contribute within a team as they travel to new customer sites around the country. Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform the construction and routine maintenance of fire protection systems including a variety of alarm, detection, and suppression systems
• Install foam suppression, clean agent, and dry chemical suppression systems to comply with local and national fire codes
• Cut, thread, and fit pipe to project specifications using Rigid tools
• Understand code requirements for fire system inspections and maintenance
• Communicate with customers to understand system deficiencies and be able to make recommendations for repair
• Run wire for low voltage devices for detection and alarming on job sites

Qualifications:

• Maintain a safe driving record and be eligible to a drive a company vehicle
• Should be able to pass random drug tests and maintain a safe work environment
• Have excellent mechanical skills and be able to work from blueprints or follow foreman instructions
• Experience using a variety of hand tools including pipe wrenches, impact drivers, drills, pipe threaders, and groovers- Rigid tools preferred
• Experience with low voltage wiring and testing equipment
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Maintain strong attention to detail while in a physically demanding environment
