FOODSERVICE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
As a food service customer service representative, your main responsibilities would revolve around assisting current customers. You’d be joining a team of professionals that work together to offer excellent customer service to our accounts, this includes following contract terms while building relationships. Here's an overview of what you might expect in this role:
1. Taking Orders: You'll receive orders from customers via phone, email, or online platforms. You'll need to accurately input these orders into the system and ensure that all relevant details are recorded correctly.
2. Answering Inquiries: Customers may have questions about products, pricing, delivery times, or special requests. You'll need to provide accurate and helpful information to address their inquiries promptly.
3. Resolving Issues: Sometimes orders may be incorrect, delayed, or damaged during delivery. You'll be responsible for resolving these issues to the customer's satisfaction, which may involve coordinating with other departments like logistics or quality assurance.
4. Providing Support: You'll offer assistance to customers who encounter difficulties with the ordering process, online platforms, or payment methods. Patience and problem-solving skills are essential in this aspect of the role.
5. Maintaining Records: Keeping detailed records of customer interactions, orders, and resolutions is crucial for tracking trends, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring accountability.
6. Upselling and Cross-selling: When appropriate, you may suggest additional products or services that complement customers' orders, contributing to increased sales and customer satisfaction.
7. Following Up: After resolving an issue or completing an order, it's often beneficial to follow up with the customer to ensure their satisfaction and to gather feedback for further improvement.
8. Adhering to Policies and Procedures: You'll need to follow company policies and procedures regarding order processing, customer communication, and data security.
9. Clerical: Daily, in person clerical tasks, including reviewing invoices, scanning and data entry.
10. Software Knowledgeable Requirements: Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Windows.
Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach are key attributes for success in this role. An applicant must be flexible to changes in responsibilities as our business grows and new accounts are on-boarded. Additionally, a good understanding of the food industry, including product knowledge can be advantageous.
