Job Title: EEP Job Coach
Department: Economic Inclusion and Workforce Development
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Supervisor: EEP Coordinator
Status: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The EEP Job Coach is responsible recruiting, enrolling, and providing career advancement counseling services to eligible refugee participants in New American Pathway’s Employer Engagement Program (EEP). The EEP Job Coach will ensure that each participant signs a service agreement with information on the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of the participants, program, and employer. The EEP Job Coach will conduct personalized goal planning for each participant considering input from the participant regarding their current job status, skills, qualifications, and interests. The EEP Job Coach will assist the participants with a plan that includes clear and measurable benchmarks for skill development that can be assessed at least every 6 months and holds additional goal planning discussions with each participant continuing in the program. The EEP Job Coach will ensure all documentation is accessible to participants not proficient in English by using translation when needed. The EEP Job Coach will ensure all the services provided to clients are in accordance with federal regulations and guidelines for the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Employer Engagement Program (EEP).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordination with the local refugee resettlement community for the success of the program.
  • Create and implement strategies in collaboration with the EEP team for participant and employer recruitment and outreach.
  • Ensure each participant signs a service agreement with information on the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of the participants, program, and employer.
  • Conduct regular and ongoing participant assessments to understand the unique challenges, skills, and goals of each participant.
  • Develop personalized training plans based on assessment results and reevaluate stated goals/progress quarterly with participants.
  • Provide follow up and other support services that enhance employer/participant engagement for the success of the program.
  • Provide support and assistance to participants; ensuring to engage with, and effectively serve marginalized sub-groups within the refugee population such as women and LGBTQ individuals interested in developing professional skills.
  • Participate in community events or forums to raise awareness about the program and engage with potential employers and participants.
  • Stay informed about trends and developments in refugee services and employment support, sharing insights and best practices for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting required reports to ORR.
  • Assist in monitoring program progress and overall program performance and review the program function to ensure that adequate progress is made towards achieving programmatic goals.
  • Assist in creating and designing EEP skills materials and presentations.
  • Prepare and present job-specific needs trainings to the participants.
  • Attend all required meetings, on-site hiring events, and trainings.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds and sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
  • Detail-orientated with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Analytical skills to monitor progress and identify areas needing adjustment or improvement.
  • A personal passion to assist refugees with achieving their career goals by fostering employer engagement and investment in the professional development of refugee employees.
  • Experience in vocational counseling, refugee employment or related fields preferred.
  • Highly organized with knowledge of database and data management.
  • Ensure that individual case files are maintained for each program participant. Files must comprise all information collected on the participant including, at minimum, documentation of participant eligibility, personalized training plan, assessment results, and case notes.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, expressing requirements and expectations to a wide range of individuals.
  • Organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize, and flexibility.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential.
  • Experience working as part of a team in a diverse and multicultural environment.
  • Basic computer skills, especially email, spreadsheets, and presentation creation software.
  • Bilingual/Multilingual in refugee languages a plus (Arabic, Spanish, Dari, Pashto, etc.)
COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time, hourly position with an pay range between $18.30-$20.19 per hour ($38,000 to $42,000 annually). Employer contributes to medical, dental and vision insurance. Employer pays life and disability insurance. 15 paid holidays and a generous paid time off policy.. Employee has the option to contribute to 401k
