Director, Financial Planning & Analysis
General Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and partnering with business leaders, the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) oversees the organization’s financial planning and analysis functions. The director of FP&A will be responsible for analyzing organizational budgets and performing periodic planning, forecasting, analysis and reporting. This role will have the responsibility for financial planning (P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow), proactive business analytics, modeling, pricing processes, competitive analysis, reporting enhancements, actual vs forecast variance analysis explanations, and ad hoc business performance projects and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain the full financial model for the business
  • Develop strategies meant to assist the organization in meeting its long-term financial objectives
  • Work closely with Executives to build annual plans and monthly forecasts
  • Develop KPIs measuring the financial health of the organization or assigned units of functions. Report financial results with commentary and analysis
  • Review past and current financial performance against budgeted estimates, and develop models that assist management in understanding the financial impact of business decisions
  • Counsel business unit leaders on financial related matters
  • Lead the collaboration with peers in Accounting and Finance departments to perform ad-hoc analysis and to explain variances versus Budget, prior Forecast, and prior months
  • Provide ad hoc support to business leaders
  • Look for ways to improve the accuracy and automation of the current processes
  • Play a key leadership role in the Finance organization, including improving management reporting, mentoring team members, and assisting with business optimization.
  • Performs analysis of forecast risks and opportunities
  • Collaborates with corporate accounting teams to understand accounting consequences of operational decisions
  • Collaborates with accounting, treasury, investor relations, and senior leadership on the strategy and preparation of quarterly earnings release and Board of Directors’ meeting materials
  • Partners with information technology team to enhance the impact of data and reporting tools used by financial and operational stakeholders
  • Ensures continual improvement on corporate and divisional reporting and analysis
  • Ensures continual improvement on divisional processes and best practices
  • Manages corporate FP&A team; including onboarding, training, and career development
  • Collaborates with corporate land team and divisions on land strategy and forward-looking growth plans
  • Assists with M&A processes from initial due diligence and valuation stage through to integration
  • Performs other duties as may be required by the VP of Finance.
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/business administration.
  • Ten years of relevant experience and prior management experience.
  • Experience managing revenue forecasting.
  • Experience with Financial Corporate Compliance laws and regulations.
  • Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities.
  • High level of analytical ability and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required. Must be comfortable presenting to leadership.
  • Possesses competencies to accomplish financial work through a variety of software packages.
  • Eligibility for Top Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, CMA or MBA.
  • Experience with government contract administration and related accounting practices.

Work Environment & Conditions
This position is required to work in an office setting using a computer for extended periods of time. Personal involvement and exposure, including travel, to other locations is required.
