** Mixer Driver**

**Metro Ready Mix, LC. is part of Metro Pavers, Inc. a local, family owned and operated paving company that has been in business since 1966. We are looking for a self-motivated, dependable, honest, Mixer Driver.**

**This position requires complete compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and Metro Ready Mix, LC regulations and standard operating procedures. Primary job duties include, but are not limited to:**

* Performs pre-trip safety inspection of truck in accordance with DOT regulations

* Mix and deliver concrete per company SOP while ensuring all safety/OSHA regulations are followed.

* Communicates with the Dispatcher/Plant Manager, Project Manager and/or person in charge of the construction site as to truck status and location throughout shift, in a timely manner.

* Drive truck in a safe manner as per DOT requirements and/or company SOPs.

* Ensures cleanliness of the truck through out every shift.

* Operate drum with proper rotation speed in accordance with the concrete specifications and mixing instructions as applicable.

* Maneuvers mixer truck throughout construction site and dispenses concrete as instructed.

* Upon close of day, truck is washed and cleaned, empties truck for block creation and /or reclamation area, or as directed, filled with fuel and performs post-trip safety check as per DOT regulations and company SOPs.

* Completes any required paperwork and turns into dispatch office.

* May drive dump trucks, side dumps, loaders, water trucks and/or trailers.

* May perform other related duties as assigned to include assisting at the ready-mix plant.

* Promotes and supports safety programs as outlined in company and regulatory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and requirements as applicable.

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**

* Must have a valid Iowa DOT Certified Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class B with Air Brakes, Class A is preferred Will be required to provide and maintain all certifications/documentation required by the DOT.

* Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening, physical and background check.

* Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with federal and state motor carrier regulations and company policies.

* Must have strong work ethics, reliable, honest, detail orientated, well organized and a self-starter.

* Demonstrates good communication skills and teamwork.

* Reliability, attention to detail, and stress tolerance.

* Ability to work in all environmental job conditions (hot/cold weather, rainy, dusty, etc.)

* This position will spend the majority of the working day on job site(s) which requires:

* Regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. which may include

* Occasional twisting, pulling, climbing, and carrying heavy objects up to 20% of the time

* Sitting, Standing, climbing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours a day

* Occasionally reading fine print, viewing indirect and direct sunlight, and performing some typing duties on a smartphone and/or tablet

* Being exposed to outdoor elements (hot and cold) for up to 8 hours a day

* Occasionally working from levels over 4 feet from the ground (such as a ladder)

Visual requirements-must be able to pass a normal visual acuity test, must not have any night time driving restrictions on drivers license.
