Job Description:
Wage: $19/hr. Davis Bacon Wages when applicable.*
Metro Pavers is a local, family owned and operated paving company, that has been in business since 1966. Due to current contracts, we are looking for a Gate Monitor to work at our job site at The Eastern Iowa Airport. (This position is not an airport employee) This position is temporary, however, there is an option to also work on the crew when a Gate Monitor is not needed if permanent employment is desired.
We are looking for a punctual, dependable person to monitor who has access to the job site at The Eastern Iowa Airport. This position is responsible for checking security badges for anyone entering the job site, as well as checking any vehicles entering for proper credentials. You would also be responsible for contacting airport security in the event of unauthorized individual attempts to gain access. All airport security protocols, regulations, and safety procedures must be strictly adhered to.
This position will last until the airport job is completed. It has the potential to be ongoing should we have additional work at the airport. We also would consider the right candidate for a permanent position where this employee would work on our paving crew when not needed as a Gate Monitor. That job description will be provided upon request. Base, starting pay for that position is also $19/hr.

• While monitoring the gate employees are paid certified wages. Crew members are paid certified wages when working on certified jobs. There is no guarantee that crew members will be working on certified jobs. Certified wages are based on the job and task being done and do vary.

Employees never make less than their base wage.
Job Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check for both Metro Pavers and The Eastern Iowa Airport.
• Must be able to successfully complete the badging process for The Eastern Iowa Airport and obtain and maintain the security badge.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions as this is an outdoor position.
• Must be dependable, a self-starter, have strong work ethics, detail oriented, organized, and honest.
• Must be able to work long hours, including overtime.
• Must ensure the gate is properly locked and secure.
