Job Description Title
Human Resource Generalist
Essential Functions
The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR management in supporting the operation. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
* Maintains safe practices and procedures.
* Responsible for entering employee data in the HRIS System
* Process payroll on a weekly basis and verifies reports prior to posting payroll.
* Assist and trains HRIS users in the timekeeping and payroll approval process.
* Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
* Has an understanding and is able to effectively communicate policies and procedures.
* FMLA Administrator
* Workers Compensation Administrator
* Completes Unemployment claims in a timely manner.
* Assists with hourly annual performance evaluation process.
* Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.
* Assists with recruitment efforts temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations.
* Assists with employee relations counseling, including outplacement counseling utilizing EAP.
* Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
* Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
* Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
* Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Basic Qualifications
* A minimum of 2 years progressive HR experience with at least 2 years in a manufacturing operation.
* Effective communication skills, including verbal (logical and organized), written, listening and presentation.
* Willingness to support a 24/7 performance-driven manufacturing operation.
* Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter.
* Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple demands to meet tight deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent experience.
* PHR or SPHR
* Bilingual in Spanish

Work Environment
* This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
