IAPP is Hiring an Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist Near Portsmouth, NH

The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking for an Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to join the team.

Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist role is mainly responsible for implementing the overall operations of the organization’s tracking and reporting of accounts receivable, the collection of outstanding receivables, and will also assist with other accounting processes as assigned. This is an important position that requires great attention to detail, flexibility, and thoughtful communication.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees A/R & Collections for the entire organization, working to minimize uncollectible invoices.
  • Perform monthly reporting of A/R and ongoing efforts to collect on outstanding A/R organization wide.
  • Set policies for Accounts Receivable & Collections across the organization.
  • Complete credit checks/financial analysis of potential customers and/or setting of credit limits, regular review and reporting on where customers are in relation to those limits, and advising the path forward when credit limits are reached.
  • Maintain and manage all payment portals for the organization, obtain and maintain accurate contact information related to Accounts Receivable activities.
  • Processing of additional accounting duties, not specifically related to Accounts Receivable & Collections, as assigned.
  • Ensure customer service excellence and consistency.
  • Proficient in technologies and programs necessary to complete tasks.
  • Obtain information necessary to resolve unusual problems. Communicate with internal and external individuals to obtain or supply information.
  • Control the accuracy of data appearing on accounting documents and within the financial system.

Additional Duties may include:

  • Perform month-end accounting duties that contribute to accurate financial statements.
  • Perform other operations such as producing reports, creating general journal entries, making adjusting entries, producing collection notices.
  • Additional duties, as assigned by Comptroller or CFO.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in accounting or finance and at least 3 years Accounts/Receivable and Collections experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and experience with collections preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
