Summary of Position:

  • Reviewing, editing and processing payroll for multiple locations on a bi-weekly scheudle. 
  • Processing and reviewing all benefit invoices and enrollments including 401K and insurance.
  • Developing, revising, and implementing HR policies and procedures, including annual or biannual review of Employee Handbook and policies, in coordination with company legal counsel.
  • Advising management and ownership on best practices for the administration of employee benefits programs.
  • Developing performance management systems and processes and rolling them out company wide.
  • Advising on employee development plans and programs including management training
  • Conducting audits of HR activities to ensure compliance, bi yearly.
  • Presenting training sessions related to specific HR programs, including but not limited to, harassment, safety, payroll administration, recruiting and hiring practices, disciplinary actions.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of company orientation and training materials, in conjunction with the Director of Operations.
  • Creates and periodically updates job descriptions for all positions, in conjunction with recruiting manager.
  • Stays abreast of Federal, State and Local laws pertaining to personnel including drug free workplace, hiring, and firing practices, sexual harassment, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Ensuring all legal/required employment posters are posted at all establishments.
  • Conducting investigations of alleged Employee Handbook violations in the workplace along with the Director of Operations and/or General Counsel and make recommendations on resolution.
  • Conducting new employee orientations and employee relations counseling
  • Overseeing exit interviews.
  • Maintaining company directory and other organizational charts.
  • Ensuring accurate records are maintained in an organized manner in conjunction with company controller, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Works with employees and supervisors on a variety of employee relations issues, including benefits, leaves, policy interpretations, and day-to-day changes and issues. 
  • Tracking of all salary positions per location and quarterly pars.
  • Ensuring new hires complete onboarding documents timely.
  • Ensuring compliance with all I-9 employee verifications.
  • Managing benefit enrollments for eligible employees.
  • Verifying benefit billing on a monthly basis, in conjunction with company controller. 
  • Completing employment and income verifications for employees. 
  • Work with internal teams and hiring managers to assist with recruitment efforts by prioritizing hiring needs by emergency and department
  • Assist with both external and internal hiring efforts (internal recruitment meaning assessment of employees for different or more senior roles.)
  • Assists in developing recruitment strategy. This may include job posting optimization, recruiting marketing channel development, job board procurement, digital and non-digital employment marketing, comprehensive recruitment campaign planning, talent planning, etc
  • Identify and source appropriate talent for current open roles within the organization
  • Identify future talent needs and proactively recruiting and sourcing; develop a talent pipeline for upcoming and future projects.
  • Manage the recruitment process and life-cycle, including initial assessments, interviews, and offer letters, and follow-up with managers to ensure 30, 60 and 90 day reviews are conducted

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two-three years of HR and payroll experience, preferably in hospitality multi-unit operation. 
  • Prior experience with Paycom system is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and DC labor laws
  • Knowledge of up-to-date recruiting methods and hands on experience with social media, job boards, and applicant tracking systems
  • Excellent time-management and organization skills, ability to multi-task, remain organized and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelors degree strongly preferred
  • SHRM CRP or HRCI PHR strongy preferred
