Role: Trial Attorney II

Pay Rate : $46.03/per hour

Location of Assignment: Hybrid - 2970 Clairmont Road Georgia, Atlanta

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Standard Business Hours

Contract Length: 3 months, opportunity for extension/conversion pending performance and business need

Job Profile Summary:

Seeking a skilled attorney to provide legal representation for clients in matters of moderate complexity and/or risk, with limited supervision. Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating assigned cases, preparing, and trying cases in all courts and agencies, and communicating effectively with Claims and clients. The ideal candidate will also offer related legal advice and services as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Worked on legal matters of basic or moderate complexity and/or risk, representing clients in trials or hearings before courts or agencies, including appeals and arbitrations, with moderate supervision.
• Reviewed and evaluated cases and lawsuits in accordance with established NTD Best Practices guidelines.
• Developed proficiency in interpreting insurance contracts and coverage issues and possessed knowledge of state and local practices and rules.
• Gathered relevant information, conducted research, and evaluated the reliability of cases, witnesses, and information.
• Worked with clients and claims to establish, communicate, and implement Litigation Plans.
• Kept clients and claims professionals fully informed and had contact with Claims management.
• Prepared and tried cases of above-average complexity and moderate exposure (including injuries) in all courts and agencies.
• Recognized, participated in, and promoted settlement opportunities, negotiating as authorized within adjuster's authority.
• Took depositions of parties and experts, obtained meaningful discovery, and participated in motions practice as warranted.

Education:

• JD Degree from an accredited law school
• Currently licensed as an attorney in an appropriate US Jurisdiction

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in one or more areas of trial law, showcasing proficiency in applicable legal practices and procedures.
• Possessed substantive knowledge in civil law, particularly in insurance contracts.
• Adhered strictly to the Private Practice of Law policy, always ensuring ethical conduct and professionalism.
• Exhibited excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective negotiation and advocacy.
• Processed information efficiently and effectively, leveraging exceptional analytical and legal skills.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness and creativity in legal problem-solving.
• Displayed proficiency in computer usage, with a working knowledge of basic software applications.

Upon acceptance of offer, candidates will be required to submit to a 10-year criminal background check, urinalysis drug screen, and soft credit screen.
