This position reports to the Distribution Manager. The tasks listed below describe the major responsibilities of the position but should not be considered conclusive. This position requires time management, space assessment skills, organization, abilities to multi-task, verbal and written communication skills, basic match, computer literacy, asset utilization skills, DOT and motor freight compliance, organizational product knowledge, customer base knowledge, and understanding of cross department functions.

This is for a 2nd shift Monday - Friday 3pm - 11pm

Essential Functions:

• The Supervisor oversees up to 25 direct reports consisting of Drivers, Dispatchers, and Schedulers.
• Works closely with the Corporate Transportation Safety Compliance Coordinator in all aspects of Logistics Safety.
• Ensures new and existing CDL drivers are fully trained and in compliance.
• Enforces safety rules and safe place work habits on a continual basis. Conducts accident investigations.
• Has responsibility for Tractor appearance, cleanliness, and maintenance. Strives for uniformity.
• Must monitor Driver movements and conduct time studies in a continuing effort to improve efficiencies.
• Ensures total quality management is in effect, participates in the CAR and RA process with root cause analysis, and acknowledges the internal customer concept.
• Reviews and approves weekly time and attendance.
• The Supervisor has overall responsibility for the execution of the line-up provided by the scheduler, will work with the Dispatcher and Scheduler in finding the most efficient ways to route deliveries.
• Generates bills of ladings, forwards to Dispatcher, and posts non-discrepant bills of ladings as needed.
• Will work with other departments on a regular basis to resolve issues like Sales and CSR’s.
• The Shipping Supervisor ensures all employees assigned receive a thoughtful annual performance evaluation in a private setting.
• Enforces product preservation, storage, identification, trace ability, and control of nonconforming product.
• Identifies damaged and or obsolete goods, informs Warehouse Manager and/or Division Manager.
• Possesses thorough understanding of all key performance indicators.
• Oversees pallet return program where applicable.
• Ensures the shift is staffed, with fair and equitable workloads, vacations are covered, and operates equipment themselves when necessary.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds
• Must be able to become forklift and reach certified
