Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting and will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire accounts payable process, including invoice verification, coding, and payment processing
• Manage and mentor the accounts payable team, providing guidance and support as needed
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors
• Review and approve payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Conduct regular reconciliation of accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies
• Monitor cash flow and forecast future cash requirements
• Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate project costing and reporting
• Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports and metrics for senior management
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations
• Continuously improve processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint) and MS Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA or CMA certification preferred 
• Familiarity with lien waivers and subcontractor compliance requirements
