Lead System/Network Engineer Northland Control Systems, Inc is looking for a Lead System/Network Engineer in Milpitas, California to help design, build out, and maintain our rapidly expanding infrastructure.
The Lead System/Network Engineer is responsible for the design and day-to-day operations of our growing IT infrastructure and will be a key contributor to building out a cutting-edge hybrid SaaS and cloud-based infrastructure to meet the future needs of the company. This position will be responsible for the evaluation, analysis, design, of new systems with a strong grasp of security fundamentals and best practices at every layer.
The ideal candidate is dynamic and self-motivated, with a strong ability to work effectively cross-functionally. The position requires a substantial ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
QUALIFICATIONS •Expert at managing an enterprise Microsoft infrastructure including Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows Server, o365 Suite, Azure AD, Exchange online, SharePoint, Teams.
•Experience deploying and managing UEM (Unified Endpoint Management) systems such as Intune in a cross-platform environment (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android).
•Expert at designing, securing, and maintaining complex LAN and WAN networks including configuring and managing firewalls, security policies, VLANs, VPNs, SDWAN, switches, and WAPs. Meraki preferred.
•Experience with endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, threat detection and response such as Pal Alto Cortex XDR, Qualys VMDR, or Rapid7 InsightVM.
•Experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS/Azure.
•Experience deploying, integrating, and managing and SSO/MFA solutions such as ADFS, Azure AD, Okta, Duo.
•Knowledge of server hardware platforms (Dell preferred) & virtualization architecture (VMware or equivalent).
•Demonstrated experience with scripting and automation.
•Experience planning, managing, and driving complex IT projects.
•Experience configuring and managing Jira and/or Zendesk.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•Ability to diagnose and rectify network issues efficiently.
•Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
•Experience with SAN and fibre channel storage a plus.
•Experience with Lucid/Visio a plus.
•Experience with ISO 27001 ISMS policies, procedures, and audits a plus.
DUTIES - Administer Northland's corporate IT systems and help design and migrate to a modern SaaS/cloud-based infrastructure.
- Maintain the security, high availability, and data integrity of corporate IT systems and services.
- Build integrations between systems to automate user provisioning and authentication.
- Partner with internal groups and stakeholders to find creative solutions to system-wide issues.
- Ensure that our corporate systems remain patched and optimized.
- Support Northland's Managed Services environments and a migration to AWS and cloud-based services.
- Perform complex project-based and time-sensitive tasks under minimal supervision and be proactive about challenges or constraints within a project and seek to manage them accordingly.
- Share knowledge and mentor others by contributing to internal and user-facing documentation of corporate systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends (emergencies only).

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineer or related field.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Microsoft certifications are a plus.
AWS Certified Associate or Professional are a plus.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), a plus.
DIRECT REPORTS This position holds no formal supervisory authority, is responsible for reporting insights to colleagues and management.
This position requires regular office attendance, three days in the office, two days remote.
