Access Technology Application Specialist

Northland Controls is looking for an Global Access Technology Application Specialist I is to help safeguard our the people and property of our clients.

Responsibilities

Essential duties of the position include:

  • Program and maintain access levels within the Quantum Secure SAFE system.
  • Work with adjacent and internal teams to collect all the needed information for system programming.
  • Access levels with reader programming in PACS.
  • Perform regular audits of SAFE and PACS systems to ensure global standards are kept.
  • Monitor and respond to group ques and support email accounts.
  • Perform system investigations to discover root cause for download and system issues.
  • Manage and monitor global badging standards.
  • Support remote badging processes by working with badging coordinators and ambassadors.
  • Assist with External Audit reports.
  • Work with the HID support teams to fix bugs and monitor enhancement deployments.
  • Support GSOC personnel with global access management questions and issues.
  • Monitor badging accounts and assist as needed with system related issues.
  • Monitor system health and operations for SAFE and other global systems.
  • Work with local management worldwide to build and maintain approval and audit roles within SAFE.
  • Investigate root cause of system or communication errors with global applications. Monitor global applications general system health.
  • Provide general global systems and application support to all regions
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in access control system programming.
  • Familiar with access control system hardware and its operations.
  • Good understanding of computer systems and IT networking structure.
  • Candidates for this position must have a strong security systems background & working knowledge of variety of Physical Access Control & CCTV Systems
  • Strong organizational & clear communication skills are absolutely required
  • Individuals in this position must be self-motivated and forward thinking, looking for new and better solutions
  • must demonstrate strong multitasking ability to manage multiple different tasks
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 
  • Effective organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community cross-functionally.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Working knowledge of enterprise level security systems such as Lenel OnGuard and Software House C*Cure are extremely desirable.
  • Working knowledge of windows operating system, word processing & Excel spreadsheet skills are absolutely required.
  • Professional associations within Security Industry such as ASIS membership & CPP licenses are desirable but not required.
