Position Summary: We seek an Associate Director of Finance to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations within the Accounts Payable Department and the Real Estate Development Department, ensuring a high-level of accuracy and the ongoing development of team members within each department.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage housing development projects transactions: monthly project draws, approving invoices, cost certifications audits, escrow closing transactions, 50% test, and developer fees schedule.
• Monitoring cashflow and ensuring that bills are paid on time and funding are available.
• Oversee accounts payable
• Work with bankers on EFT & ACH payments process
• Lead and train a team of accountants on year-end closing and stand-alone audits of all the operating entities at CCH.
• Assist in limited partnership audits, consolidation audit schedules, and record transactions of all controlling subsidiaries, and elimination of related-party transactions as needed.
• Record all purchase and sales transactions, escrow transactions for CCH and affiliates
• Coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely deliverables of tax returns to meet investors deadlines.
• Streamline the company’s monthly financial reporting to provide management with a better understanding of the financial position of the organization.
• Lead a team of accountants on the month-end closing process in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist financial team on troubleshooting any issues with the accounting software including payments, cash receipts, workflows, new entity settings, etc.
• Create account trees, and coding in Yardi as needed.
• Coordinate and participate in the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, banking, investment, and all housing development transactions.
• Conduct training sessions for new staff members regarding accounting Yardi systems.
• Assist in property management monthly closing as needed.
• Interface with housing development departments in providing information on general accounting issues as necessary.
• Provide supportive documents to the auditors as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

• Ability to engage in continued conversations about justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, with an equity focus, and to apply those conversations to daily work.
• BS/BA in Accounting with 5-7 years of accounting experience with progressive supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in PC-based accounting software programs and spreadsheet (MS Excel) applications.
• Understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of account analysis and financial statement preparation
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to meet established deadlines.
• Organized and able to effectively manage multiple projects and duties simultaneously

• A valid driver license, reliable personal vehicle, personal auto insurance as required by law, and an MVR sufficient to obtain and reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are essential job requirements.

Reporting Organizational Relationships
This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Finance and supervises the day-to-day activities and staff of one or more functional areas within a department and performs related work as required.
Compensation & Classification
CCH is committed to paying competitive wages. The salary range for this position is $104,000 to $140,540 annually. Based on CCH's Compensation philosophy, the majority of new hires are brought in at the minimum of the salary range. CCH has a competitive benefits package with health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 8% of an employer contribution for retirement, and more. This is a full-time,-exempt position. This position is based at CCH Central Office – Walnut Creek.
