Job Summary:
The Employee Health Nurse functions as a health team member supporting the objectives of Employee Health Services, focusing on prevention, early detection of illness, management of health risks, and chronic conditions. Completes pre-employment and annual assessments, assists with Worker’s Compensation patients, screens employees for illnesses, communicable diseases and injuries, supports the Hospital’s Employee Health wellness programs, and provides other nursing services. Works under the supervision of a nurse practitioner and/or physician.
Minimum Qualifications BSN preferred.
Current North Carolina RN licensure required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience required.
- Experience in providing health education on an individual or group basis required.
- Knowledge of health and wellness, occupational health, federal and state regulations, and CDC recommendations pertaining to Employee Health Services.
- Considerable knowledge of occupational health procedures and skilled with diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficient with MS Office and Epic/EMR, with the ability to learn new software rapidly.
