We carry a full line of exterior hardscape stone from quarries around the world, natural stone and manufactured tile collections, and a large assortment of leading-edge building supplies for professional builders and artisans. We service high-profile clientele, partnering with industry leaders in luxury construction and design. Stone West Inc. brands include SafeBoard, a nationally distributed fabrication and installation support product, and more lines under the Stone West Inc. umbrella.

Job Summary

At Stone West Inc., we know that the key to growth is a high-performing sales team. That’s why we’re seeking a qualified Architectural Sales Representative to generate sales from Architects, General Contractors, Designers, Developers and other industry leaders who could benefit from our products and services. Part sales development, part closer, the ideal ASR has strong product knowledge and excels at researching leads and customer needs, developing new relationships, and successfully closing. As a boutique, luxury materials company we have the ability to be nimble and adapt quickly to changing business conditions, and are looking for candidates who share that adaptability and solution-oriented mindset.

The ASR should be a quick learner who has strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and an ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Every potential customer is an opportunity for boosting top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels, and profitability, and the ASR will play a significant role in that process. Listening and confidence are key, and the ASR should have significant experience negotiating, presenting products and services, and closing deals.

This role is a hybrid position – the ASR will work both remotely and from our offices in Ventura, CA. Travel is required to generate leads and nurture relationships throughout a geographical territory in the Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles counties. Vehicle expenses will be provided as needed. Occasional national/International travel may be required for trade shows and/or business development/product knowledge. Travel and work hours and expectations may shift depending on the needs of the business.

Objectives of this role

  • Represent the company’s products and services, using comprehensive knowledge as well as consumer research to explain how our solutions meet customer needs
  • Achieve company sales objectives by planning effectively, setting sales goals, analyzing performance data, and projecting future performance
  • Drive revenue growth, expand our market presence, and provide strategic insights to company leadership
  • Generate leads and build relationships by nurturing warm prospects and finding potential new sales opportunities; manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects
  • Identify best practices for refining the company’s lead-generation playbook

Responsibilities

  • Utilize boots-on-the-ground sales visits, email, and other networking avenues to generate new sales leads and proactively seek new business opportunities.
  • Identify the needs of prospects, and suggest appropriate products or services
  • Build long-term, trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities

· Deliver excellent and timely follow-up and strive for world-class customer service.

· Attend trade shows and industry events as needed

  • Understand our products, our market competition, and how to position products to overcome these factors
  • Quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for customer orders; provide customers order updates as needed
  • Report to the Vice President with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results
  • Perform additional duties as required and/or requested

Required Skills and Qualifications (the Must Haves)

· Experience in outside sales, with a track record of exceeding lead targets

· 3 or more years of experience in interior/exterior materials, commercial building projects, architectural design, natural stone, or related industry experience

· A proven record of building strong relationships with clients and business partners, with connections that are longstanding

· Confidence in approaching and collaborating with important clients on complex, multifaceted project design plans

· Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

· Exceptional attention to detail and execution skills

· Proven, creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills

· Strong desire and ability to grow with an organization

· Ability to work autonomously, or with a team

· Intermediate computer skills

· Strong math skills to calculate figures and amounts

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Skills and Qualifications (Nice to Haves)

  • At least 5 years of experience in interior, exterior, or architectural design with a proven record of building strong relationships with Designers, Architects and/or Contractors strongly preferred

· Experience as an Architectural Sales Representative or equivalent, with a track record of achieving sales quotas

· A proven record of building strong relationships with Designers, Architects and/or Contractors

· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)

Salary Range & Benefits

· Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location

· Base pay of 90k – 130k annually, commissions and incentives.
