Lincoln Electric is seeking a Continuous Improvement Technician for our Euclid, OH headquarters. The Continuous Improvement Technician will be responsible for hands-on functions within the Consumables Methods Group, ranging from the support of daily production operations to the development of new and improved manufacturing processes. This includes a focus on the continuous improvement of safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing costs.

What You Will Do:

  • Support day to day operations in the Stick Electrode production either autonomously or as part of a larger support group.
  • Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.
  • Set up and conduct tests under operational conditions to investigate processes and product designs.
  • Assist with the execution of Permission Notes to test process changes, material changes, and new/redesigned products.
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to perform basic analysis of raw data and make decisions based on the analysis.
  • Responsible for safety, cleanliness of work area, and workmanship while performing assigned duties.
  • Responsible for product quality and productivity resulting from the manufacturing processes.
  • Create and maintain all documentation associated with the manufacturing process.
  • Evaluate assigned Employee Suggestions, create Permission Notes, and Change Requests.
  • Interact with all departments as required to support Consumable Division initiatives. These include, but are not limited to: R&D, Marketing, Supply Management, all production departments, QA.

Required Education & Expereince

  • Technician II: Vocational training and 3 years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 5 years' experience in a relevant work environment.
  • Technician III: Vocational training and 5 years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 7 years' experience in a relevant work environment.
  • Technician IV: Vocational training and 8 years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 10 years' experience in a relevant work environment.
  • Continuous Improvement Tier 1 certification is desirable.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge manufacturing processes, machines, and equipment
  • Must be able to run production equipment where applicable.
  • Must be proficient at Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must be willing to become proficient in MES, SAP, PowerPoint, Mini-Tab, and other similar software.
