RVA Hospitality is Hiring an Outside Sales Representative Near Richmond, VA

Job Summary:
As an Outside Sales Representative specializing in private events and catering, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and driving revenue growth through the sale of our event services and catering packages. Your primary focus will be on prospecting, building relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs, and ultimately booking private events and catering contracts. You will collaborate closely with our event planning and culinary teams to ensure seamless execution and exceed our clients' expectations. Compensation for this position will be $23 per hour 2% commission on business to business/corporate & education sales (ex: capital one, vcu, etc). Potential for more hours based on needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and research potential clients for private events and catering opportunities. Utilize various channels such as networking events, cold calling, email campaigns, and social media to generate leads.

2. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients. Understand their event requirements, preferences, and budget constraints to tailor customized proposals and solutions.

3. Consultative Selling: Conduct thorough needs assessments and consultations with clients to recommend suitable event services and catering packages. Effectively communicate the value proposition of our offerings and address any concerns or objections.

4. Proposal Development: Prepare and present compelling proposals, including detailed event plans, menu options, pricing estimates, and contract terms. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals align with clients' expectations and company capabilities.

5. Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate contract terms and pricing to achieve mutually beneficial agreements. Close sales and secure signed contracts for private events and catering services.

6. Event Coordination Support: Serve as a liaison between clients and internal teams throughout the event planning process. Provide ongoing support to ensure successful execution of booked events, including coordinating logistics, menu tastings, and site visits as needed.

7. Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics. Continuously identify opportunities for innovation and improvement to maintain our competitive edge.

Qualifications:

· Proven track record of success in outside sales, preferably in the hospitality, event planning, or catering industry.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

· Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.

· Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

· Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or related field preferred.

· Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for client meetings and events.
