Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute is Hiring a Part-Time Instructor, History Near Hickory, NC
Part-Time Instructor, History provides classroom instruction through lecture, computer simulation, demonstration, laboratory exercises, handouts, the use of audio-visuals, responding to questions and testing; perform related duties as required. This position is responsible for completing required paperwork, care of equipment and material, and ability to comply with all CCC&TI policies and procedures.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential and other responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Essential Functions: Plan and participate in the instruction of classes for the program; prepare supplemental materials and tests; maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.Prepare objectives, assignments, grading standards, attendance policies and course syllabus to be distributed at first class meeting; select text books; prepare, proctor and grade tests; prepare instructional materials and aids.Provide supervisor with objectives and course outlines for each class; begin and end each class on time; turn in reports, final grades and other forms on time; revise course content and objectives as required; administers student evaluations each term; develop new courses in field as required.Assist in the evaluation of activities and operations of assigned program; ensure that operations meet the goals and objectives of the college and the needs of the student population.Marginal Functions: Support college functions/cultural activities; assist in the placement of students.Perform other duties as assigned.This position description covers the most essential functions and duties associated with this position. The President or appropriate supervisory personnel may assign additional duties. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Training: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with 18 graduate semester hours in history required. Experience: Experience teaching full-time at a post-secondary level is highly preferred. Prior experience teaching online (Moodle) and/or hybrid courses preferred.

In 1964, CCC&TI opened its doors as Caldwell Technical Institute. The college first began offering classes in 1966 in health occupations and adult basic education at a temporary site located in the Dulatown community. By fall 1967, new facilities opened and hosted some 260 curriculum students.
