JOB
Part-Time Instructor, Transitional Studies instruct classes and provide individualized advising in the Transitional Studies division, including Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, and English Language Acquisition.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Job Duties: Essential and other responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Essential Functions: Plan and participate in the instruction of classes for the program; prepare supplemental materials and tests; maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.Prepare objectives, assignments, grading standards, attendance polices and course syllabus to be distributed at first class meeting; select text books; prepare, proctor and grade tests; prepare instructional materials and aids.Provide supervisor with objectives and course outlines for each class; begin and end each class on time; turn in reports, final grades and other forms on time; revise course content and objectives as required; administer student evaluations each term; develop new courses in field as required.Assist in the evaluation of activities and operations of assigned program; ensure that operations meet the goals and objectives of the college and the needs of the student population. Marginal Functions: Support college functions/cultural activities; assist in the placement of students.Perform other duties as assigned.This position description covers the most essential functions and duties associated with this position. The President or appropriate supervisory personnel may assign additional duties. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. National Reporting System credentialed preferred, which includes: K-12, Special Ed., Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Certification, Adult Education, Graduate Degree. Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible teaching and/or counseling experience at a post-secondary level required.

About Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute

In 1964, CCC&TI opened its doors as Caldwell Technical Institute. The college first began offering classes in 1966 in health occupations and adult basic education at a temporary site located in the Dulatown community. By fall 1967, new facilities opened and hosted some 260 curriculum students. The college continued to grow and expand, adding college transfer courses to its offerings in 1969, officially becoming "Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute" the following year. Since the college's humble beginnings in the early 1960's, CCC&TI has grown by leaps and bounds, adding faciliti...es to its Caldwell Campus including a job training center, increased classroom space and buildings, the Broyhill Civic Center, the John A.
