Community College of Baltimore County is Hiring a Specialist II, Veteran Education Services - Part Time Near Catonsville, MD
High school diploma/GED and 3 years military or customer service experience; knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Assists with disseminating and the review of pertinent and accurate information to veteran students, service members, eligible spouses and eligible dependents on of Veterans Educational Benefit Programs.
- Informs and educates students on the admission and enrollment processes related to VA procedures, including review of all VA regulations.
- Serves as the liaison with all pertinent CCBC department faculty, staff and external agencies.
- Ensures accurate completion and collection VA forms required for verification and certification.
- Assists with utilizing and maintaining computer systems, VAONCE, Banner and other required data bases to ensure certification of accurate enrollment for programs of study.
- Assists with the maintenance and organization of all VA Files in adherence with VA Compliance requirements.
- Verifies class requirements, schedules, graduation status and evaluated prior college transcripts and prior credit is documented.
- Assists with the reconciliation of student accounts to ensure proper VA Certification is completed in accordance with VA Regulations.
- Ensures proper Debt Letter process is maintained and monitors VA Debt files to assist the VA Certifying Official.
- Assists students with referrals to CCBC Navigators and provides other resource information as needed.
- Completion of timely and accurate student inquiries relating to the VA Program and CCBC policies and procedures, refers and coordinates complex VA matters to VA Certifying Official.
- Actively participates in Veteran related programs, events, outreach activities and VA training sessions.
