Job Summary
The Credit Analyst is an essential position within the Business Services team, which provides analytical support by assessing credit risk on commercial loans. The Credit Analyst spreads and analyzes commercial borrowers, participates in the approval process, calculates key metric financial ratios, provides a risk rating and other due diligence.
Primary Responsibilities
Spreads and analyzes financial statements regularly to assist lenders in evaluating credits. Calculates key financial metrics and communicates strengths and weaknesses of credits to loan officers and management.
Prepares and calculates risk ratings on commercial relationships and communicates any material information to assist in limiting risk.
Facilitates loan committee and have a working knowledge of commercial loan policy.
Tests and monitor financial loan covenants and communicate results.
Leads or assists with projects as needed consisting primarily of credit administration issues and may relate to possible changes in policies and procedure, as a result of examiner or auditor recommendations, or changes in compliance and regulations, monitoring of industry or borrower concentrations, risk assessments
Writes or assists in writing credit evaluations for new request, renewals, and periodic reviews.
Visits business establishments and completes site inspections to determine condition of property as part of new underwriting or annual review processes.
Completes all other tasks, assignments or functions as assigned and/or required.
Promotes a positive relationship between the members (internal and external) and the Credit Union and understands that service delivery to members is the number one priority of the Credit Union.
Qualifications
High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in a finance related field preferred.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret financial statements.
Solid analytical skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
