Department: School of Nursing
Work Hours: Monday through Friday daylight
Full time Mental Health Instructor with a strong medical-surgical knowledge base as well. Actively functions as a faculty member in the School of Nursing. Provides Mental Health and some Med-Surg theoretical and clinical experiences for students, based on sound educational principles and the approved School of Nursing Curriculum in a team teaching environment. Provides educational experiences to prepare students to function as entry level registered nurses. Collaborates with peers, clinical manager/director, staff and community resources to ensure continuity of quality patient care and fulfillment of student learning outcomes. Participates in School of Nursing program evaluation activities and school and health system committees also required.
Requirements
Strong Mental Health background with additional medical -surgical nursing experience required.
Master's Degree in Nursing from an approved professional nursing program, education focus preferred.
PA RN Licensure. Two (2) years experience in specialty of primary teaching responsibility: Mental health and Medical-surgical nursing. Previous teaching experience preferred.
Computer literate, working knowledge of Word and Power Point applications. Knowledge of Canvas a plus.
Written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of teaching strategies, organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with others in a creative, problem-solving environment.
Able to begin employment at the end of July.
