Emerson Career Site is Hiring a Strategic Planning Analyst Near Austin, TX
Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Planning Analyst to join our team! As part of the Americas group, the North America Strategic Planner will provide critical support for initiatives that span across Sales, Finance, Business Development, Operations, and IT to help drive growth in the World Area. You will develop relationships with the direct sales organization to enhance the results of all the initiatives listed above.
The position offers a broad exposure to Emerson’s business leaders as well as the corporate strategy, business unit strategies, sales organization, and corporate functions. In support of each of these organizations, the strategic planner is encouraged to provide perspective and analytical support with the end goal of driving progress in the organization. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Support and participate in Emerson Planning Process for the Americas which will include major management events such as quarterly World Area reviews, annual strategy review, and value creation/growth planning conferences
- Develop, in coordination with staff, long range objectives and strategic plans by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability including macroeconomic trends, competitors, and market position
- Analyze adjacent markets and make informed recommendations as to how Emerson should participate (or not participate)
- Work with regional teams to collect market intelligence and trends and build and maintain quantitative model of competitive participation in markets and geographies
- Analyze macroeconomic indicators to track business performance and develop long-range economic models for global business
- Support leadership team with business development analyses and growth planning
- Provide monthly financial commentary and industry trends to support Investor Relations
- Participate in the development of analytical tools and dashboards to support the sales organization
- Attend Americas staff meetings and support development of content and analyses for Americas reviews
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (business, accounting, finance, engineering, economics)
- Two (2) - Three (3) years of applicable work experience
- Legal authorization to work in the United States, sponsorship will not be provided
- Experience in consulting, strategy, or business development
- Relevant experience within the industrial automation or technology sector
- Ability to bring a measured, data-driven approach to a range of high-priority and high-impact projects
