Description

The Autism Services Coordinator is responsible for the provision of individualized community based services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This encompasses the direction and coordination of services through the development of individualized service plans for service recipients and collaboration with relevant entities for the authorization and oversight of service provision. In addition, the coordinator provides direct oversight of the recruitment and training of Autism Support Professionals and provides direct supervision and ongoing individualized training and support to all direct care providers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Possesses and applies working knowledge of North Carolinas system of services for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, including the Innovations Waiver, Medicaid, and other state and local funding streams
  • Implements internal and external policies and procedures to deliver services and ensures that all aspects of service provision comply with all applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Determines support needs of individuals based on the assessment of available resources and natural supports and collaborates with all relevant parties to develop service plans for each individual to meet need areas by utilizing available service options
  • Analyzes the developmental needs of each individual seeking services, identifies goal targets for skill acquisition, and develops goals and strategies for supporting the individual in achieving the identified goals in conjunction with each individuals treatment team
  • Provides oversight to all areas of service provision including, but not limited to, home and community based supports, residential services, and pre-vocational and/ or vocational supports.
  • Collaborates with Regional Human Resources Coordinator and HR department in the recruitment of direct support staff and assignment of staff to individuals whose needs match the staffs capabilities
  • Delivers trainings to applicants and employees to impart necessary knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and best practices and strategies to teach and support individuals with ASD
  • Ensures that documentation of service delivery is completed in accordance with all applicable regulations
  • Ensures adherence to processes, procedures, and timeframes within the revenue cycle, from intake to reimbursement for services rendered
  • Utilizes internal systems, including payroll systems, electronic health records, and online training systems to ensure operational integrity and efficiency in service delivery
  • Makes presentations to service recipients and/or families of service recipients, local schools/colleges, local businesses and community groups, and the general public, in support of recruitment, fund development, and public education regarding our services and mission
  • Coordinates with the Human Resources regarding all elements of performance management and talent development
  • Coordinates with accounting staff to ensure timely payroll, billing processes, and adherence to budget
  • Maintains service recipient and staff files containing documentation of direct contact, correspondence, telephone conversation and other communication.
  • Participates in professional development activities including but not limited to staff meetings, staff in-service or trainings, and assigned conferences
  • Engages in self-directed learning to stay abreast of changes within state service delivery system and remain fluent in all aspects of service delivery
  • Performs other miscellaneous tasks that are integral or ancillary to services provided by ASNC.
  • Ensures that all services are provided with a commitment to CQLs basic assurances of health, safety, and work to meet the personal outcomes of individuals we support.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a discipline related to human services, and a minimum of two years of full-time, post baccalaureate, accumulated experience working with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities; or Bachelors degree in a field unrelated to human services and a minimum of four years of full-time, post baccalaureate accumulated experience working with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities; or Masters degree in a human services field and a minimum of one year of full-time, post-graduate, accumulated experience working with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities
