Job Details Job Location ASHEVILLE OFFICEServices/Clinical/Day Program Office - Asheville, NC Job Category Direct Care/Hab Tech Description The Autism Support Professional implements the treatment plan of individuals receiving services through the provision of direct supports to enable them to achieve maximum self-sufficiency, involvement, and success in their homes and community or in a licensed program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides direct instruction, supervision, and assistance to individuals receiving services within their homes and community to support them in achieving targeted goals. Goals include development or enhancement of communication skills, social interaction skills, positive behavior management, self-care and self-direction, and are individually prescribed on individuals service plans.
Communicates effectively with individuals served, their families, supervisors, and regional staff to ensure that all information pertinent to provision of services is shared with all team members
Participates in treatment planning meetings and progress assessment meetings to provide feedback, and recommendations for the development or revision of goals and strategies based upon experience delivering services to individuals
Participates in development of staff schedule for services of individuals receiving services, in collaboration with Services Coordinators, and Regional Human Resources Coordinator.
Cross-trains with other autism support professionals to ensure continuity of services
Completes all required electronic documentation of services through electronic health records system within 24 hours of service provision
Documents and collects additional data that pertains to delivery of services as assigned (behavioral data, service summaries, etc.)
Safeguards all confidential information pertaining to the individuals receiving services
Provides all required personnel file documentation necessary to maintain eligibility to work and/or transport
Adheres to submission deadlines for all services and job related documentation
Completes online and classroom based trainings as required, adhering to all deadlines for registration, completion and renewal Collaborates with supervisors and administrative staff regarding all matters related to assigned individual(s) receiving services as requested
Contributes to the mission of the Autism Society of NC by providing support and promoting opportunities which enhance the lives of individuals within Autism Spectrum and their families
Ensures services are provided with a commitment to CQLs basic assurances of health and safety and work to meet the personal outcomes of individuals we support. Performs all other duties necessary for the operation of community based programming as requested by supervisors.
*Additional Duties for 24 Hour Services Only Overnight supervision: *For individuals who require awake staff, staff are required to be alert to individual throughout all of participants sleeping hours as well as waking hours. This may include intermittent checks throughout the night as determined by individuals plan of care. *For individuals who do not require awake staff, staff are expected to respond to any needs that arise during overnight hours which may require waking to support the individual as needed.
Light housekeeping to maintain organization, order and cleanliness within the individual(s) home
Minor household maintenance as needed and directed by supervisor
Transportation to and supervision during medical, dental, and other health service appointments as determined by the plan of care
Maintaining inventory of household supplies and groceries for home
Assistance with all personal care needs as necessary for individuals receiving 24 hour services Qualifications Must possess a valid NC Drivers license, a safe driving record and an acceptable level of automobile liability insurance. If drivers license is from outside North Carolina, must obtain a NC license within 60 days of establishing permanent residence. Must have a criminal background check which reveals no health and safety risk to service participants Must have access to internet and a PC, tablet, or phone with internet platform in order to perform essential functions of this position.
