Senior Director of Environmental, Health and Safety

OVERVIEW

The Senior Director of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) leads the Safety and Environmental departments, emphasizing a culture of safety and excellence. Offers strategic planning to ensure regulatory compliance at a facility located 30 minutes outside Jackson, TN.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and other applicable regulations.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to foster a culture of safety and excellence.

• Stay updated on policies and regulations, conducting effective Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).

• Manage EHS budget and priorities, overseeing safety inspections and maintenance.

• Coordinate with environmental management and support emergency preparedness planning.

• Lead investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and engage with external stakeholders.

• Provide afterhours plant assistance as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree with Safety Certifications (CSP, CIH, SMS, CHMM) preferred.

• Minimum 6 years’ experience managing environmental and safety concerns in hazardous manufacturing industries such as chemical, oil and gas, explosives, manufacturing, petrochemical, or refining, emphasizing leadership and culture.

• Experience with ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications and standards preferred

• Strong leadership skills required, with the ability to effectively weave safety principles and practices into the organizational culture, fostering a commitment to safety excellence among all employees.
