President – Manufacturing / Defense

**Responsibilities**:
The President is responsible for overseeing operations including P&L and direct line management responsibility for staff to ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual safety and business objectives are met. The organization has a strong history of over six decades in research and development, specializing in advanced materials for defense applications.
**Key Functions**:
- Ensuring the safe and secure operation of the business unit.
- Leading the organization in alignment with values, emphasizing integrity, inclusivity, teamwork, and partnerships.
- Manage functional; team of senior-level exempt employees
- Serving as the primary point of contact with U.S. Government clients, assessing their needs and identifying appropriate contractual arrangements.
- Spearheading annual operating plans and delivering on business commitments.
- Directing the organization's strategic vision within the context of the Five Year Strategic Plan.
- Overseeing capital improvement plans and project execution.
- Guiding the implementation of the corporate Operational Framework and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Collaborating with staff on continuous improvement methodologies.
- Representing the company as the chief public relations spokesperson.
- Maintaining full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as U.S. Government requirements.
- Managing workforce training and development.
- Effectively overseeing personnel and performance evaluations.
- Addressing escalated customer concerns or service issues.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Over 15 years of experience in senior leadership roles, with some coming in manufacturing.
- Executive management experience in the Defense sector is required.
- Familiarity with U.S. Government agencies and services is an advantage.
- Experience in DoD prime contracting is a plus.
**Skills**:
- Effective communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Competency in team management and collaboration.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Strategic planning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of regulations (FARS, DFARS, GAAP) and government contracting.
- Track record of profit and loss management.
