HR Assistant
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Provide effective support and coordination in the administration of human resource programs, policies and recordkeeping requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A summary of the essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:
1. Enter daily record of employees absenteeism; receive absenteeism calls and notify pertinent
supervisor.
2. Assist in the screening, hiring and orientation of new employees, provide a plant tour, and
complete paperwork.
3. Maintain employee personnel and job applicant files. Maintain files on all employee job
and pay change records.
4. Assist employees requiring interpretation of personnel policies and benefit programs.
5. Sort weekly payroll checks and distribute to supervisors.
6. Assist in the coordination of special employee meetings or employee service activities i.e.
company picnic etc.
7. Receive department phone calls and provide requested information i.e. verification of
employment, reference checks, etc.
8. Administer enrollment and eligibility records for medical and life insurance programs.
9. Complete unemployment forms requests and participate in hearings as required.
10. Prepare and type various letters and memos and distribute as required. Assist in maintaining
bulletin boards.
11. Assist with other such duties or responsibilities as may be required.
Must be bi-lingual (Spanish), local candidates only
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: High school graduate with business practices emphasis. Personal computer
Experience.
B. Experience: Prior office/administrative experience preferred. Ability to work with
employees at all levels in the organization and handle multiple duties
at one time. Must posses good organization and recordkeeping
capabilities.
