Position: Bilingual Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Peer Support Outreach Specialist

Job Summary: As a Peer Support Outreach Specialist (PSOS), you'll be the first bridge to hope for homeless and at-risk Transitional Age Youth (TAY) in Marin County. You'll collaborate with individuals, families, schools, and agencies, becoming a beacon of support as TAY clients transition from crisis to a place of growth. Your role will include providing peer counseling, coaching, and connecting clients to vital resources, including safe housing.

What You'll Do:

• Seek out and engage with under-resourced TAY in various settings, building relationships and trust.
• Provide coaching, linking TAY to emotional and social support resources.
• Assist and motivate clients in accessing essential services for their well-being.
• Prepare and distribute program supplies for clients in need.
• Drive agency van to connect with clients and provide necessary information.
• Offer transportation to medical, housing, and important appointments.
• Initiate crisis intervention and support services when required.
• Participate in community outreach events and share insights on TAY needs.
• Document all client interactions and outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Your deep commitment to supporting TAY on their journey to thriving.
• Knowledge of community resources for TAY populations.
• Willingness to learn and apply Peer Supported Recovery concepts.
• A valid California Driver’s License with a clean record.
• Strong communication skills to engage with a diverse population.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain boundaries.
• Fluency in English and Spanish required. 
• An understanding of equity, inclusion, and diversity's role in our work.

Hourly Rate:

• $28.79 an hour, including added 5% bilingual differential.
