Description

Summary/Objective 

The Business Analyst Intern is a liaison between the Company’s IT systems and operations. This role compiles and analyzes data from the Company’s business systems. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. This function will streamline business processes to increase efficiency between business systems, migration planning, and the end-user experience. The ideal candidate is dynamic and possesses the desire and potential to learn and grow with our company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Gather and analyze data from our various business systems

  • Assist to develop and maintain periodic operational reports to collaborate and assist day-to-day operations through data management and reporting 

  • used by field management and senior leadership 

  • Perform database maintenance while communicating and resolving operational issues with the company Business Analyst 

  • Present and communicate findings and analysis to the company Business Analyst 

  • Supporting collection and presentation of key performance indicators

  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate operational issues and support strategic initiatives 

  • Work with a Business Intelligence tool to create dashboard reports 

  • Creating Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for end-users 

  • Creating reports, charts, graphs, and other written explanations to aid in business decision-making improvements and assist the Business Analyst in implementing approved changes. 

  • Use critical thinking to determine ways to map and push out and produce a consolidated approach to combining multiple data points. 

  • Work on projects as assigned with limited complexity in a support role. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Job Requirements 

Education and Experience 

  • Have or currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business Systems 

  • 0-2 years of experience with IT Business support, or relevant equivalent experience and/or education 

  • Proficient level in database development and maintenance 

  • Proficient Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access skills 

  • Experience in data visualization and analytics preferred 

  • Knowledge of SQL, scripting languages like R or Python and other tools preferred but not required 

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, inquisitive, high standards of accuracy and highly organized 

  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to think creatively, problem solve, highly driven and self-motivated
