Overnight Plant Supervisor – Las Vegas, NV

The Position: In this role, we are looking for an experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Overnight Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision of the Daily/Nightly service delivery and plant operations at our N. Las Vegas operation. The Supervisor will operate the plant safely and efficiently and provide training and oversight to employees.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of contracted services.
• Working supervisor alongside the team performing similar tasks and carrying out similar responsibilities, including but not limited to coaching and developing the team during day-to-day production and plant operation.
• Acts as liaison for management and plant operators, delivering and receiving information necessary for effective and safe plant operations.
• Compliance related to regulatory requirements. Strict adherence to all permitted activities.
• Continuously monitors plant equipment and systems to efficiently minimize unplanned downtime.
• Provides plant operator support to ensure the plant’s productivity targets.
• Investigate equipment failures, determine the root cause of failure, and recommend appropriate solutions to reduce the reoccurrence of/or eliminate the cause of failure.
• Participates in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns. Provide technical and hands-on support as required during shutdowns.
• Provides troubleshooting expertise for the production units.
• Complies with OSHA, EPA, MSDS, and WRM Standards.
• Smooth operation of the entire plant, enforcement of policies, and compliance with SOPs and safety.

• Receives and reconciles deliveries, checking for shortages and product issues.
• Supports raw material processing; operates all material handling equipment.
• Proactively acts on shortcomings identified in plant inspections and proposes solutions.
• Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact quantity and type of product required by the customer is loaded and shipped.
• Efficiently moves product to/from storage areas into/out tanker trailers.
• Operates all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and security of the plant.
• Ensure strict adherence to all company policies related to safety as well as attendance.
• Ensure preventive maintenance, and cleaning of tanks is on schedule.
• Maintain all records related to scheduled and emergency maintenance and cleaning.
• Proper documentation/ inspection of all loads from 3^rd party.

Qualifications

Educational Background & Experience Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Environmental Sciences or a similar field.
• Must be able to travel up and down catwalk stairs repeatedly.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds multiple times a day.
• Mechanical aptitude. 
• 2-3 years prior experience in wastewater facility or plant.
• Experience in wastewater treatment plant operations is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Ability to get along with other employees and the public.
• Ability to sit, stand, and transport self from site to site, walking over slippery, loose, uneven and sloped surfaces.
• Must be able to hear and communicate verbally, both face to face and over radio and telephone.
• Ability to read, understand and utilize work orders, gauges, meters, chemical reports, manuals, computers and other operating, measuring, and testing devices.
• Must be able to perform and oversee concurrent multiple tasks, exercise good judgment, problem solve under stress
• Excellent interpersonal skills with senior leadership and field employees.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Detail oriented, analytical, inquisitive, high standards of accuracy and highly organized.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access skills.
