Job Summary

Job Summary: Job incumbent assists with facilitation of activities and partnerships relating to TCC GO program outreach. This includes engaging with students, parents, and various professionals in providing opportunities available through TCC GO. Incumbent will represent the TCC GO program to Kindergarten-12th grade institutions in the TCC region and may include coordinating activities, tracking student engagement, developing new partnerships, and facilitating participation in the TCC GO program. Incumbent will provide outreach about career development opportunities available through TCC GO and ongoing support and encouragement in academic proficiency, high school graduation, and pursuit of postsecondary education.

Adhere to the TCC Ch’eghwtsen’ model of service and guiding principle which requires providing timely and effective service along with the ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust and demonstrates respect, compassion and empathy.

Essential Functions

Essential Functions: This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbent(s).

Representative Duties: Under the direct supervision of TCC GO Project Coordinator, job incumbent will:

1. Ability and willingness to work directly with school-age youth.

2. Work directly with K-12 school staff under the guidance of the TCC GO Program Coordinator to establish clear communication and understanding about program objectives and outcomes.

3. Collaborate with TCC GO Student Support Coordinators to provide outreach, plan and provide educational events to middle school students throughout the TCC region.

4. Advise youth on career pathway development and available opportunities.

5. Serve as a liaison between TCC GO Student Support Coordinators and TCC staff for rural visitations.

6. Serve as a liaison between TCC GO Student Support Coordinators and regional school districts to facilitate student outreach.

7. Coordinate outreach travel with Student Support Coordinators and relevant TCC teams.

8. Assist in maintaining files associated with applications and other documentation.

9. Prepares correspondence, forms, or other documentation in proper format. Assists in preparing for small and large group presentations, workshops, or trainings.

10. Assist in the execution and ongoing tracking of surveys and data collection.

11. Must maintain strict confidentiality.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Perform other job related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. HS Diploma, three (3-5) years of related experience Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Ability to prioritize and problem solve.

2. Two years customer relations/customer service experience preferred.

3. Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements and the State of Alaska background check.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with and build trust with various stakeholders, and conduct presentations.

2. Efficiently coordinate outreach activities.

3. Ability to problem solve and adjust outreach based on different schools and communities

4. Willingness to travel to rural communities.

5. Adequate computer skills for organizing files, drafting correspondence and collecting data.

6. Knowledge of K-12 education systems preferred.

Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Supervision

Physical demands: The job is mostly sedentary, sitting for extended periods of time at a computer terminal. Incumbent must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull at least twenty pounds. Moderate travel is required of the position in various types of aircraft in all weather conditions. Other physical demands, such as walking, climbing, and stooping are expected of this position. Required to work under pressure and handle a large work load. Able to work in a busy, sometimes stressful environment.
