What you’ll do:
The Network Management System (NMS) Admin is responsible for configuration and administration of the Network Management Systems. This position is responsible for maintenance, development and improvement of the systems. The NMS Admin reports to the NMS Manager and coordinates with all technical IT and Engineering departments within US Signal. The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, development, documentation, maintenance, and security of US Signal’s NMS projects related to overall monitoring of network health and equipment.
• Partner with various departments to configure and test alarms, reports and other tools.
• Perform NMS hardware installation, maintenance, and software upgrades.
• Database development and administration.
• Work with NMS monitoring and data collection as well as integration across other systems, performing necessary troubleshooting for any issues that arise.
• Other projects as assigned by US Signal Management.

What you bring to the team:
To be successful in this position, you should bring the following qualifications, experiences, and education:

Competencies:

• Previous Network Management System experience
• Excellent understanding of SNMP and MIB structure, API and other common tools
• Strong familiarity with Linux Server and VMware Administration
• Language Knowledge: SQL and Perl, PHP, and/or Python.
• Experience with database environments, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Telecommunications knowledge and/or experience is a strong plus.
• High level of productivity, analytical ability, attention to detail, accuracy and excellent organizations skills.
• Ability to work well with all areas of the US Signal organization as well as external customers and vendors.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

Extensive experience in Computer Information Systems or Computer Network Systems and Database Management is required. A bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science Field is a plus.

Experience:

• Previous Network Management Systems experience preferred.
• Experience with Linux programming and database environments.
• Technical experience in a telecom environment is a plus.
• Networking and network monitoring experience is essential.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This position operates in a variety of environments. A portion of the time is spent in a professional office environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment.
