Responsibilities:
SCREENING FOR THIS POSITION WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides clinical direction in psychiatric and chemical dependency assessment services including evaluation, crisis intervention, and referrals. The assistant director interfaces closely with administration, medical staff, and other hospital departments. The Assistant Director of Admissions is accountable for assisting the director in managing the Admissions department and operations. The ADA is expected to have knowledge of and enforce standards set forth by TJC, HCFA, OSHA, CMS, and state and federal regulatory requirements as it pertains to the department and facility policy. Must possess a working knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, addiction and recovery, treatment planning, and experience in patient assessment and clinical interview. Must be able to communicate effectively with external review organizations and insurance providers. Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques required. Additionally, must be able to communicate professionally with persons of diverse backgrounds.Assists with the development, implementation and coordination of policies and programs covering employment, placement, orientation, traininThis position provides clinical direction in psychiatric and chemical dependency assessment services including evaluation, crisis intervention, and referrals.

Qualifications:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds and carries small objects from waist to chest.
Must be able to type.
Ability to distinguish telephone rings and to hear and speak clearly over the telephone.
Regularly needs to bend, stoop and reach.
Must be able to speak, read and write.
Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
SKILLS:
Understanding of standard intake paperwork and processes, billing and HIPAA regulations, insurance and self-pay collections. Requires creativity, high energy, organization, and problem-solving skills. Also requires verbal/written, interpersonal and customer service skills. Working knowledge of software programs such as Windows, Word, Excel, etc. The ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Requires ability to exercise independent judgment to accomplish goals. The ability to multi-task is an essential skill for this position.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s in Nursing or Master’s from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health, or other applicable field. Licensed as an LCSW, LPC, LSW, etc……… preferred. Preferred 4 or more years of prior intake, assessment, admission or crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in a crisis and/or inpatient setting.
Staff Development Requirements:
Must meet or exceed hospital and regulatory agency training requirements.
Exposure Category: III
Works in general office environment and hospital units/programs. Exposure to psychiatric patients, who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste.
Salary: Starting from $86,000.00 to $92,000.00 a year
